Due to space exploration, there are 96 bags of human waste on the moon. Apollo astronauts left the poo behind to lighten their spacecraft. But now, NASA is looking for another solution, and is willing to pay $3 million dollars. The agency will be reviewing applicants of the LunaRecycle Challenge to see which contestant came up with the best way to recycle human waste on the moon. “NASA is committed to sustainable space exploration. As we prepare for future human space missions, we will need to consider how to minimize various waste streams, including solid waste,” the agency explained. NASA will soon select the most promising entries to develop functional prototypes. (Techoreon)
