The Microsoft Windows 95 startup chime has officially been added to the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry. The registry is described as “our evolving nation’s playlist” and honors “audio treasures worthy of preservation,” Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden said. Other new additions include “Aloha ‘Oe” by the Hawaiian Quintette; Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On”; and the Original Broadway Cast Album of Hamilton. (newser)
