American scientists claim they have allowed study participants to see a new color by firing laser pulses into the eye. These pulses stimulated retina cells to give the impression of a never-before-seen intense blue-green color. “We predicted from the beginning that it would look like an unprecedented color signal but we didn’t know what the brain would do with it,” engineer Ren Ng said. Five people total observed this color, which is now called “Olo.” The name comes from the binary 010. (newser)
