Starting May 7th, air travelers will need a Real ID to fly within the United States, but most states are not fully prepared for this change. In fact, 16 states are less than 50% compliant. A qualifying Real ID is usually indicated on the driver’s license as a star in the upper right. People who do not have a Real ID can also use a passport or Enhanced Driver’s License to board a domestic flight. If you do not have a Real ID, check your state’s DMV for directions and information.
