21 humanoid robots recently participated in the first half-marathon of its kind! The machines, although slower than their human counterparts, strutted, rolled, and jogged their way to the finish line in China. Some robots were human-shaped, but were far shorter than the average jogger. Other robots needed battery changes mid-race, and one controlled by a propeller spiraled out of control. “We want robots to feel more real…so people feel comfortable around them,” robotics expert Weijia Xing said.
