Majority Of Americans Support Government Checks And Balances

A national survey from the Annenberg Public Policy Center found that Americans across party lines support the Constitution’s system of checks and balances. 66% say presidents should not ignore court rulings, and 67% oppose appointing judges without Senate approval. “Democrats, Republicans, and independents alike believe that the courts and Congress should be able to check the president’s actions,” Political Science Professor Matt Levendusky said.
