A Dutch town has likely thrown away an Andy Warhol print worth around $17,000. About 46 artworks were accidentally tossed during renovation work on the Maashoorst town hall last year. “Somewhere during that period, the art must have ended up with the bulky waste,” Mayor Hans van der Pas said. “You don’t treat valuable property this way. But it happened. We regret it deeply.” The disposed Warhol print was of Queen Beatrix and was part of the “Reigning Queens” series. (newser)
