Dutch researchers found that people in Tanzania are also far healthier than those in western nations. The Tanzanian Kilimanjaro diet consists of okra, plantains, beans, and drinks made of fermented banana and grain millet. Those following this diet tend to have lower levels of inflammation. “Inflammation is at the root of many chronic conditions, which makes this study highly relevant for Western countries as well,” lead study author Dr. Quirijn de Mast said.
