72% of Americans would rather stay in with friends instead of going out. Just 28% prefer a night out on the town, a Talker Research survey done on behalf of Air Wick found. Respondents spend anywhere from 10 minutes to two hours preparing their home for guests. 53% say hosting at home helps save money, while 47% enjoy being able to hear their guests better. “With more Americans opting for home gatherings, it’s clear that comfort, meaningful connections and subtle touches like a pleasant home fragrance or ambient lighting are becoming the new priorities for socializing,” Julia Mellberg of Air Wick said. Favorite occasions for a night in include: birthdays; dinner parties; movie nights; game nights; and TV-watch parties. (Talker Research)
