Researchers at Weill Cornell Medicine pitted weight loss medications Mounjaro and Wegovy against one another in the first trial of its kind. The study found that tirzepatide (the active ingredient in Mounjaro and Wegovy) helped participants lose more weight than semaglutide (the active ingredient in Wegovy). Over the course of 72 weeks, those on tirzepatide lost 20.2% of their body weight, while those on semaglutide lost 13.7%. Participants taking both medications saw improvements in blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol levels. (Study Finds)
