Researchers at Dartmouth College discovered that even though tick populations have remained steady, the percentage of these pests infected with diseases has risen. 31% of adult deer ticks in New York carried Lyme disease in 2007, but that percentage increased to 54% in 2021. This means tick bites carry a higher risk of making you sick this summer. Deer ticks are also making their way further north as the climate becomes more favorable to them. (Study Finds)
