Woman Forced To Take Off Makeup At Airport

A clip of a young woman removing makeup at Shanghai Airport has recently gone viral. The clip shows the would-be traveler using wet wipes to clear her face because she did not look like the photo on her ID. “Wipe everything off until you look like your passport photo. Why would you do your makeup like that? You are asking for trouble,” a voice says in the video. It’s unclear if the woman was eventually allowed to travel. However, some commenters questioned how good the facial recognition technology was if it could not recognize her with makeup on. “Isn’t it time to upgrade the equipment?” one person asked.
