Thousands of chicks that had been abandoned in a postal service truck have now all been adopted, a Delaware shelter reports. An estimated 5,000 chickens, turkeys, and quails were adopted by local families, rescues, and farms. The chicks were part of a shipment left unattended in a truck. First State Animal Center and SPCA, a no-kill operation, only allowed the birds to be adopted as pets or to lay eggs, but not to be used as meat. The U.S. Postal Service is currently investigating how this incident occurred. (ABC News)
