A recent survey of 2,000 U.S. adults reveals a disconnect between people’s stated importance of sun protection and their actual sunscreen usage. Less than half (41%) wear sunscreen more than 60 days per year, while 13% typically skip it altogether. However, the survey found people are more diligent about sun safety while on vacation. Four in 10 take better care of their skin when traveling compared to at home, and nearly half (48%) make sunscreen a top priority in their vacation skincare routines. The discrepancy may stem from having more time and being more exposed to the sun on vacation. Thirty-six percent find sun protection more relaxing on trips, while 34% get significantly more daily sun exposure. Parents are slightly more vigilant, with 71% admitting they’re more diligent about applying sunscreen to their children than themselves. (Talker Research)
