A recent survey of 2,000 Americans revealed that 23% of book club members have found romantic interests within their reading groups. Men (38%) were more likely than women (16%) to report meeting someone romantically at a book club. Gen X (45%) and Gen Z (47%) prefer meeting potential partners at book clubs over dating apps. The study also found that book club members read an average of 10 books per year. Reasons for joining book clubs included reading new books (68%), socializing (63%), and making new friends (59%).
