Snack giant Mondelez has filed a lawsuit against Aldi, accusing the grocery chain of packaging its own-brand products too closely resembling Mondelez’s Oreo, Chips Ahoy, and Triscuit snacks. Mondelez claims that Aldi’s peanut butter creme-filled cookies, chocolate chip cookies, and Thin Wheat crackers packaging are too similar to its Nutter Butter, Chips Ahoy, and Wheat Thins. The lawsuit, filed in the federal court for the Northern District of Illinois, seeks to stop Aldi from selling these products and requests monetary damages. Aldi, known for its own-brand products at lower prices, has faced similar legal actions in the past for packaging similarities. Aldi has not responded to requests for comment on the lawsuit.
