Finger Length Ratio Linked to Endurance Sports Ability

A recent study by researchers at the University of South Australia and the University of North Dakota found a correlation between finger length ratios and athletic performance. The study, published in the American Journal of Human Biology, analyzed data from 22 research projects involving over 5,000 participants from 12 countries. The researchers discovered that individuals with lower 2D:4D ratios, indicating shorter ring fingers relative to index fingers, showed better exercise tolerance and performance in endurance activities. While the exact mechanisms behind this connection are still being studied, the findings suggest a potential link between prenatal hormone exposure and athletic potential.
