Individuals experiencing frequent nightmares may face a threefold higher risk of premature death, as indicated by a recent study presented at the European Academy of Neurology’s annual meeting. Researchers found that those with recurring nightmares also displayed signs of accelerated biological aging, potentially due to the stress imposed on the body during sleep. The study, which analyzed data from over 2,400 children and 183,000 adults, revealed that adults reporting weekly nightmares were over three times more likely to die before the age of 70. The findings underscore the importance of addressing and treating nightmares to mitigate potential health risks. (Upi)
