Constant Background Music Linked To ADHD In Young Adults

A study found young adults who prefer listening to background music, even during cognitively demanding tasks, may be more likely to have ADHD. Researchers surveyed 434 people aged 17-30, discovering those with ADHD not only played music more often, but preferred more stimulating music regardless of the activity. While all participants listened to background music frequently, those with ADHD did so more when studying and exercising. The researchers concluded a constant need for background music could signal an attentional issue like ADHD.
