According to a new survey, younger Americans are increasingly turning to AI and ChatGPT to plan their vacations. Only 29% of millennials and 33% of Gen Z have never used AI for this purpose, a stark contrast to 70% of baby boomers. The top AI travel applications include comparing flight prices (29%) and selecting destinations (29%). One in five respondents even let AI fully plan their trips. While word-of-mouth and family/friend recommendations remain popular, social media has emerged as a leading travel inspiration source, with YouTube (34%) overtaking personal referrals (30% family, 28% friends). Notably, 52% of Gen Z uses TikTok for travel ideas compared to just 27% of millennials and 2% of boomers. As AI technology advances, this growing trend is expected to continue. (Talker Research)
