Most Workers Think They Can Do Their Job In Four Days

A new survey reveals that 69% of employed Americans believe they could fulfill their job duties just as productively in a 4-day, 32-hour work week. However, over a quarter (29%) disagree, and 3% declined to respond. The study by Talker Research found millennials (75%) and Gen Z (70%) most receptive to the 4-day concept, compared to just 48% of baby boomers. If implemented, 55% would prefer Fridays off, while 24% favor Mondays. The desire for a shorter week may stem from current workloads – 52% of respondents feel they’re working harder than a year ago, with 38% reporting feeling overworked. Meanwhile, 18% must regularly clock outside their normal hours, and a third expect to work on Labor Day, including 43% of Gen Z. Despite the challenges, the majority still believe a 4-day structure could maintain their productivity. (Talker Research)
