Many Glasses Wearers Play Sports Without Clear Vision, Study Finds

Over a third of glasses wearers have played sports without proper vision, a survey of 2,000 adults found. 42% have misjudged distances or made errors by ditching eyewear, with 11% even sustaining injuries. Concerns include frames breaking (52%), glasses flying off (44%), and sweat causing slippage (32%). Only 37% feel confident their glasses would stay secure during activity, leading 29% to avoid sports. However, 32% have worn contacts or sports goggles to participate safely. Broken frames, scratched lenses, and stretched arms are common damage, with 64% experiencing issues outside of sports. While 69% attempt DIY fixes, 42% admit the attempts are ineffective.
