A survey of 2,000 parents reveals widespread belief in pregnancy myths, with 29% thinking heartburn means babies will have lots of hair. The study found 21% believe spicy foods trigger labor. Other unusual beliefs include seeing animals reveals baby gender and hard rock music harms fetuses. One respondent said “If we dream about fish, someone is pregnant in our family,” while another believes breaking mirrors curses babies with bad skin. Despite myths, 69% of parents discover their baby’s gender before birth. More fathers correctly guessed gender than mothers at 70% versus 63 %.
