Austrian Surfer Sets New World Record With 8-Hour Wave Ride

Maximilian Neuböck has claimed the Guinness World Record for longest time surfing a wave after riding for 8 hours, 5 minutes and 44 seconds without breaks. The Austrian surfer accomplished the feat at RiverWave in Ebenesee, Austria, using a man-made wave created by currents from nearby rivers. During his record attempt, Neuböck even ate soup with a spoon while maintaining his position on the board. His achievement surpasses the previous record held by Panama’s Gary Saavedra, who surfed for 3 hours, 55 minutes and 2 seconds in the Panama Canal. Neuböck concluded his marathon session by directing his board toward the dock and sliding into the water.
