A Live Nation survey of 40,000 people across 15 countries reveals live music has become the world’s preferred entertainment form. Nearly four in ten people globally would choose live music over any other entertainment if limited to one option for life. When sex was included as an option, 70% still preferred seeing their favorite artist perform live. “Live music isn’t just growing, it’s shaping economies, influencing brands, and defining culture in real time,” said Russell Wallach, Live Nation’s Global President of Media and Sponsorship. The survey found 85% of fans say music defines their identity, while 84% believe live experiences provide the most fulfillment. Nearly six in ten fans travel annually for concerts, totaling 40 billion miles in 2024 alone. Women artists drive much of this growth, with 76% of respondents interested in female-headlined events.
