Twenty One Pilots have issued a nearly seven-minute clip that explains how the band's fans unlocked a series of codes to release the duo's new video for “Level Of Concern.”
According to the clip, it all started on June 10th, when the pair uploaded a short video teaser that included a string of letters and numbers which, when you deciphered it, referred to the title of the song, that days' date and noon.
The Clique — as the pair's fans are called — got to work as soon as the first code was posted. The fans collaborated every step of the way, eventually solving 20 codes and unlocking the video.
The video is the first of its kind, mixing footage of the band with clips and photos uploaded continually by fans to the video website. Every three minutes and 40 seconds, the video refreshes and plays again with a completely new set of images.
“Level of Concern” is the first new Twenty One Pilots song since the release of their 2018 album, Trench. The band is donating a portion of the proceeds from the song to Crew Nation, a relief fund benefiting road and venue crews thrown out of work by the COVID pandemic.
