Micky Dolenz will squeeze in a string of solo dates before hitting the road in April with surviving Monkee Mike Nesmith. Dolenz kicks off his 2020 run with a pair of shows on February 8th and 9th at Tucson, Arizona's Tucson Music Hall with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra. The East Coast dates stretch through March 28th when he'll play Delray Beach, Florida's Theater at Old School Square.
On April 3rd, Dolenz and Nesmith will release their new, career spanning live album, titled The Monkees – The Mike & Micky Show.
Micky Dolenz, who has starred on Broadway and directed television shows in England, told us that regardless of the players involved or the decade the Monkees are happening in, the gig is still pretty much the same: “Y'know, 'Clarksville' is 'Clarksville,' and whether I'm singing it with Davy (Jones), or with my band, or with (Mike) Nesmith — 'I'm a Believer' and I was singing it long before Shrek (laughs). So, from my perspective, in terms of my contribution and stuff, not a whole lot has changed.” (OC: . . . lot has changed)
