JAY Z SAYS HE NO LONGER CHARGES FOR GUEST VERSES: During a sit down with Kevin Hart's Peacock talk show Hart to Heart, Jay Z revealed that he no longer charges for guest verses and that most of his collaborations are based on “mostly relationships.” He explained, “Pretty much every song that I’m on, I’m asked to be on. I don’t ask people to be on their songs." He added, “I never charge." He also admitted that thechances of him saying yes are slim, saying, “Way more no’s than yes’s." If it's a no, he says he tries to let the person know as soon as possible. He explained, “I try to be straight up. Sometimes it slips through the cracks. Sometimes I want to do it and my life is in a certain place and I’m movin’ and I can’t do it,” he said. “But I typically try to be straight up with people. I don’t like to drag or like waste people’s time or hold them.”
RICK ROSS IS NOT INTERESTED IN TOSSING SALAD: During an interview on the Beyond The Chair podcast, Rick Ross revealed that he is not a fan of tossing salad. He explained, "I don't really have no taste for a**. I know what I like. And I usually avoid the a**." When asked if he had ever done it as a slip up, Ross responded, "Nah," adding, "If that's what you did, you ain't slip up," he insisted, getting slightly worked up at the very idea. "From top to bottom is a very long way. I'm just letting you know, that ain't a Rozay thing right there."
LIZZO CALLS MONAGAMY 'CLAUSTROPHOBIC': During a recent radio interview, Lizzo spoke on monagamy, saying that it feels claustrophic. The rapper/singer, who is currently in a relationship with actor/comedian Myke Wright, said, “I haven’t even been with nobody for 10 years. I can’t imagine being with somebody for 10 years, that’s a long time yo. … I think a traditional relationship scares me for 10 years, but love is forever. I can love somebody forever.” When asked what a non traditional relationship looks like, she said, “Monogamy, I think, to me, is a little claustrophobic. I think because [of the] rules. I think a love relationship that’s not monogamous has no rules. I think people who do poly and all that stuff, there’s still rules. … I don’t want any rules. But that doesn’t mean I’m out here f*cking and s*cking and ducking, it doesn’t mean he is either. It just means that like, there are no expectations, and that way, the love gets to just be the main event.”
YO GOTTI ADDRESSES MEMPHIS POLICE STOPPING POTENTIAL MASS SHOOTING: Yo Gotti has thanked the Memphis Police Department for stopping a man who threatened to kill everyone who attended the rapper's eighth annual Birthday Bash concert at the FedExForum on Friday (July 15th). Gotti tweeted, “Thank you to the fans, artists and everyone involved behind the scenes for making Birthday Bash a smooth, secure and successful event." He continued, "We were informed of a potential threat regarding an individual seeking to harm attendees leaving Birthday Bash that occurred 3 hours after our show ended. I would also like to thank the Memphis Police Department for their swift and proactive action in ensuring that all attendees returned home safely.” According to Fox 13 Memphis, the suspect, Elijah Hyman, was distraught because he and his girlfriend broke up. Police were informed that since Hyman and his girlfriend’s relationship was over, he was going to commit suicide and kill everyone he saw coming from Gotti’s concert at the FedExForum. Hyman was charged with commission of the act of terrorism.
TRINA REFLECTS ON HER RELATIONSHIP WITH LIL WAYNE: During an interview with Drink Champs, Trina spoke on her relationship with Lil Wayne. The rapper dated Wayne from 2005-2007. She said, “Wayne, to me, he’s always been a great person." She continued, “Back in the day, just from our situation, we were just young. You know sometimes when you’re young, this industry is just fast. It just doesn’t work out the way you plan or how you think it’s going to work out. You’re 20-something years old, you’re hot in the game, making so much money all over the place.” She added, “Wayne is one of the most honest guys I’ve ever been around or met. When I say honest, like, a real honest person. He’s not with the games. That’s not him. … To me, I’m always gonna speak positively of him.”
ICE CUBE REGRETS TURNING DOWN 'MENACE II SOCIETY' ROLE: During an appearance on the On The Guest List podcast, Ice Cube revealed that he was offered the role as "O-Dog" in Menace II Society but he turned it down and he regrets it. He explained, “I would say Menace II Society. I had a shot to do O-Dog, even though I think Larenz Tate killed it." On why he turned it down, he said, “I just didn’t wanna be type cast. You know what I mean? I was like, ‘I just did Boyz N The Hood and they just gonna have me be the L.A. gangbanger you know what I mean every damn movie.'" He continued, "I was like, ‘Nah I don’t wanna play that.' That was one movie that when I saw it I was like, ‘Ooo that role is cold.'"
