TMZ has reported that Tory Lanez's attorney has filed an appeal following him being convicted in the Megan Thee Stallion shooting.
Apparently, Lanez is seeking that his conviction be thrown out, claiming that prosecutors used irrelevant evidence during the trial.
Tory's lawyer, Jose Baez, claims that the legal documents prosecutors submitted during the trial showed Tory with a firearm on his chest. During the trial, prosecutors said it was for identification purposes, but Baez disagreed, saying that was the prosecution's attempt to convince the jury that this client had a fondness for weapons.
Baez also said that the jury heard an 80-minute interview that prosecutors had with Kelsey Harris, Megan's friend who was in the car the night of the shooting, which Kelsey later recanted a lot of what was said in the interview.
The attorney also said it was wrong to let Megan make statement to the cops that Tory said to her after the shooting, "Please don't say anything because I'm on probation."
Tory is facing 22 years in prison for three felony firearms violations and is scheduled to be sentenced next month.
