Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan's other band, Puscifer, has nearly finished recording its fourth full-length studio album, with 11 songs completed and one more to go.
The disc is not slated to arrive until 2021 but the group has been in and out of the studio for the past few months, working around Keenan's schedule with Tool and his winemaking business.
Although he writes or co-writes songs for Tool, Puscifer and A Perfect Circle, Keenan told us a while back that he never writes with a specific act in mind: ["It could be the exact same rhythm or exact same melody, it's just going to end up being what it's going to be no matter where it lands. It's going to be different, just because it's going to be a different set of people interpreting it. So it doesn't really matter. No things are designated one way or the other, just whatever ends up coming up in the conversations with those musicians is what it ends up being."] SOUNDCUE (:20 OC: . . . ends up being.)
Keenan continues to tour with Tool at the moment, with the band kicking off a new round of dates this Friday (January 10th) in San Diego. Tool released its first studio effort in 13 years, Fear Inoculum, at the end of last August.
