Inflation is driving up prices at the U.S. Postal Service! The price of a postage stamp has gone up five cents, up to 73 cents. This is the sixth increase in three years. Businesses and organizations spend $40.8 billion dollars on mail including letters, fliers, and periodicals. “These rate increases aren’t generating much additional revenue because it’s driving volume out of the system that is likely never to return,” Michael Plunkett of the Association for Postal Commerce said. Our nation’s very first postmaster general was Benjamin Franklin. (CNN)
