A University of Georgia study found that fish oil could help those genetically predisposed to high cholesterol. Researchers analyzed data from 441,000 participants to see how fish oil impacted those with a genetic risk, and found that those regularly taking the supplement had lower total cholesterol than their genes predicted. “Taking fish oil is associated with a shift toward a healthy lipid profile,” Dr. Kaixiong Ye said.
