When are kids “hangry” after school? A poll of 2,000 parents of kids aged 5 to 17 found that hunger struck around 3:36 p.m. Parents say their kids get hangry three times a week, and they themselves suffer from hangriness around twice a week. To help keep their families in a good mood, 37% of parents have pre-made snacks ready, 33% stash snacks in their child’s backpack, and 29% make after-school snacks together. “Stocking up on convenient, nutrient-dense snacks that are high in protein like cheddar cheese, whole grain crackers and nuts can help fuel your family through the day,” Sara Wing of Cabot Creamery said.
