A UK study has linked “workplace FOMO” to burnout and mental health issues. If you ever felt the need to impulsively check your work email when you’re off the clock, you may have experienced workplace FOMO. Researchers surveyed 142 and found that employees who were anxious over missing updates were more likely to experience stress and exhaustion. “Consideration of the digital workplace in work and job design is essential to not only employee productivity but also well-being in modern organizations,” Dr. Alexa Spence of the University of Nottingham said. Workers could manage this FOMO by checking emails only at specific times or practicing digital detoxing outside of work hours. (Study Finds)
