School worker Vera Liddell has been sentenced to nine years in jail after stealing $1.5 million in chicken wings. Prosecutors say the food was intended for students during the height of the pandemic. Liddell reportedly began her heist in July of 2020 and was discovered when a business manager noticed food costs at her school were $300,000 over budget. Liddell would buy large amounts of food, use a van to pick it up, but never delivered the poultry to the school. Liddell was charged with theft and operating a criminal enterprise, and pleaded guilty. (news.sky.com)
