Dogs are stealing the show in some households. A survey of 2,000 dog parents found that their dogs were thought of as their children (84%), with 76% of dog parents thinking their pup is the “main character” of their family. As a result, twice the number of respondents think of their dog before anyone else after a stressful day, even more than their partner. Meanwhile, although some dog parents have strong feelings against allowing their dogs at the dinner table or letting them lick their face, nearly half say they’d rather cut some of their own expenses than their dog’s.
