Bob and Susan Nesler have a black bear named “Junior” as a new tenant in their Los Angeles home’s crawlspace in the San Gabriel Valley foothills. Junior leaves each night to forage for food and returns to his den in the porch every morning. While the couple isn’t afraid of him, they have concern about potential risks and are working with wildlife officials to have him removed humanely. Photos captured by motion-activated cameras show the older bear comfortably settled in his temporary home, prompting Bob to sketch him, given his background as a former animator. He also told NBC News his “biggest complaint” is that Junior “does leave piles of scat.” (People)
