48% of Americans don’t know their family’s medical history, a survey of 2,000 adults found. 22% of 1,000 women polled said they knew who had cancer in their family, but were unsure of what type. With many types of cancer, including Ovarian cancer, early detection increases the odds of successful treatment. “Don’t hesitate to push for answers if something doesn’t feel right. Many women delay bringing up concerns because they feel uncomfortable, or fear being dismissed.,” Clara MacKay of the World Ovarian Cancer Coalition said. Symptoms of Ovarian cancer can include persistent bloating, feeling full quickly, and pelvic or abdominal pain. (swnsdigital)
