While most classrooms are trying to combat phone use, a recent study found that allowing students to use phones for brief, scheduled times could lead to higher grades. Shorter breaks of just one minute proved to be the most effective. “Technology breaks may be helpful for reducing cell phone use in the college classroom,” Professor Ryan Redner of Southern Illinois University said. “One possibility is that one minute is enough to read and send a smaller number of messages.” (Study Finds)
