In a new interview with People, JC Chasez opened up about his new album inspired by Frankenstein, while also taking a reflective look back on the 20th anniversary of his debut solo album, Schizophrenic, and the current status of *NSYNC. Chasez collaborated with Jimmy Harry on the concept album, Playing with Fire, which was released on Friday (October 25). “At the end of the day, when it comes to music in general, everybody’s waiting for that lightning bolt,” Chasez says of the project. “I’m using this horrible metaphor because it’s part of the Frankenstein-sphere, but when it hits, you have to get the song down — or you’re going to miss that opportunity.” Chasez says there are “no concrete plans” for an *NSYNC reunion, but “the door is open on the discussion.” While looking back on Schizophrenic two decades later, Chasez says, “I really enjoyed experimenting with that record. It was an opportunity to break the routine. I felt like I was pushing myself.” (People)
