Overall, grocery food store prices in the United States rose 1.3% between September of last year and September 2024, but some food staples saw bigger price increases. The cost of eggs rose from $2.06 per dozen to $3.82, an increase of 85%. The average price of beef grew 11%, tomatoes went up 5%, and whole milk prices increased by 1.4%.
