Duct-taped Banana Sells For $6.2 Million

Sotheby’s in New York sold a banana duct-taped to a wall for $6.2 million dollars on Wednesday. The artwork, titled “Comedian”, was purchased by Chinese cryptocurrency mogul Justin Sun. “In the coming days, I will personally eat the banana as part of this unique artistic experience,” Sun said of his recently-acquired piece. The banana was purchased for just 35 cents. “Comedian” was first created by Maurizio Cattelan in 2019. “Wherever I was traveling I had this banana on the wall,” Maurizio said of his process. “I couldn’t figure out how to finish it.
