Thursday night into Friday morning, North and South Americans will be able to see a total lunar eclipse! The Earth will cast a shadow that will block the moon. The last total lunar eclipse was in 2022. This “Blood Moon” will be visible for an hour starting 2:26 a.m. Eastern Time on Friday morning. For a lunar eclipse, no special eyewear is needed…unlike a solar eclipse. “As long as the sky is clear, you should be able to see it,” Shannon Schmoll of Abrams Planetarium at Michigan State University said.
