Propstore, a memorabilia dealer in Los Angeles, is set to auction off Darth Vader’s iconic lightsaber from The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi this September. The saber, wielded by David Prowse and Bob Anderson on screen, is expected to fetch between $1 million and $3 million. This rare piece is described as “the only hero lightsaber” from the original trilogy ever to be auctioned. The event coincides with the 45th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back’s release. Alongside the lightsaber, other movie props like Indiana Jones’ bullwhip and Sauron’s helmet will also be up for sale. Propstore previously sold a model X-wing fighter for over $2.3 million in 2022.
