A recent survey of 2,000 American parents with children in kindergarten through sixth grade found that 61% see mealtimes as crucial for engaging with their kids. The study, conducted by Talker Research on behalf of HP, highlighted common hurdles faced by parents during dinner, such as dealing with picky eaters and cleaning up afterward. Despite these challenges, 87% of parents believe that small moments at the table positively impact their child’s development. Dr. Elizabeth Bonawitz, an associate professor at Harvard University, emphasized the importance of simple conversations and interactive activities during mealtime. The survey also revealed that parents value activities like cooking with their children and using conversation prompts to enhance engagement. (Talkerresearch)
