Half Of Parents Feel Pressure From Kids When Making Household Decisions

A recent survey of 2,000 parents with children at home found that one in ten have switched their home broadband provider due to their offspring’s demands. The study revealed that 48% of parents feel pressured by their kids when making household decisions. Children aged 5-8 prove particularly insistent when it comes to internet access, spending an average of two hours per day streaming and gaming. Concerningly, 31% of parents reported their children use the internet for over four hours daily, amounting to around two continuous months of usage per year. This has driven 31% of parents to threaten cutting off the Wi-Fi as punishment, leading to arguments in 53% of cases. Additionally, 32% of parents believe their children are “addicted” to internet services, with 54% expecting usage to spike during school holidays. To mitigate overuse, 55% of parents have enforced time limits. (Talking Points)
